Neiman Marcus to Stream Live Video of Akris Fall 2010 and Resort 2011 Collections With Immediate Online Sale Option
DALLAS, Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Neiman Marcus announced today that it will stream live video of the Akris Fall 2010 and Resort 2011 collections during the annual Crystal Charity Ball luncheon and fashion show in Dallas on Friday, September 10th. Neiman Marcus will offer viewers an opportunity to purchase immediately a select number of looks from the runway show.
An exclusive online interview with Akris designer Albert Kriemler, who will be in Dallas for the event, will precede the runway presentation. Both the interview and show are part of a live Web stream starting at noon where Fall looks will be available for immediate online sale. Resort pieces can be pre-ordered for a November through January delivery. The items will include outerwear, separates, dresses and handbags.
"By offering our customer the opportunity to watch the Akris fashion show live, online, we are able to provide her with both a virtual trunk show and a first look at the resort collection," said Gerald Barnes, President and CEO, Neiman Marcus Direct. "In addition, she will be able to immediately purchase Fall runway looks which typically have limited distribution."
"Neiman Marcus provided the special opportunity to take this moment in Dallas with Albert, and share our collection and preview what's to come with a broader audience," said Melissa Beste, CEO, Akris North America. "We owe it to our clients to make them a part of all that we do, regardless of geography."
