Neebo and the National Tailgating League Team Up to Offer College Football Fans a Chance to Win Thousands of Dollars in Tailgating Gear
National Tailgate Tour Lets Fans Compete in Bag-Toss Competitions in Person and Online
LINCOLN, Neb., Oct. 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Football fans can take part in the National Tailgating League Championship Tour when Neebo college bookstores and the National Tailgating League (NTL) make stops at some of the best college football matchups this year. The Tour will feature the fan-favorite NTL Bag Toss Championship, where fans can compete in the nation's biggest "Game Before the Game" to win the Ultimate Tailgate Package—which includes team-branded tent, a cooler, chairs and lots of game-day apparel, courtesy of Neebo.
The Tour will stop at eight college games and there will be one Ultimate Tailgate Package winner on each stop. Some tour stops will also feature some of college football's finest through a partnership with the College Football Hall of Fame. Plus, fans and spectators alike can gear up for the game at the fan shops at each location.
"The tailgate tradition has become a major part of college game days everywhere, and Neebo college gear is a big part of tailgating events," said Steve Clemente, Senior Vice President of College Stores. "We're excited to join this tour and give students, alumni and other fans the chance to win a package that includes nearly everything they'll need to tailgate in style."

For those football fans who aren't able to compete at the Tour events, Neebo still wants to help everyone get the most out of the tailgating experience. Our tailgating pros offer these tips for making your college tailgate party a smashing success:
- Make a tailgate list. It's the best way to make sure you don't leave anything at home. Even better, laminate the list so you can use it again for the next game. Tip: Don't forget to add your tickets to the list. You won't want to leave home without them.
- Prep your food. Make burger patties ahead of time and freeze them. Have all needed plates, flatware, napkins and condiments. It's easiest to leave them in a designated tailgate tub to use for every game. Freeze your water bottles for warm weather games so they serve as beverages and cooler ice packs.
- Buy wisely. Good buns are a good investment. Nothing can ruin great burgers, chicken or brats like mediocre or so-so buns. This isn't a good place to skimp. The same goes for your meat choices.
- Pack smart. Bring your food in disposable plastic bags. Avoid having to dig through the cooler by putting your food items in the cooler so the ones you need first are on top.
- Plan for a real party. There is nothing worse than running out of food at a tailgate, except maybe running out of beverages. If you have too much food or drink, you can bring it home with you. But you can't eat and drink what's not there!
- Dress the part. Wear team colors and fly team flags. Real tailgaters know it's all about envy – so try to find the tailgate gear that everybody else wants.
- It's about location. Choose a space that gives you room to celebrate with other tailgaters. If your spot has a view of the stadium – even better. Be sure you're there early enough to get a great spot. And if you aren't in a grassy area, bring some Astroturf to roll out the green carpet for guests. Consider a generator to power a TV, stereo system and space heater.
- Don't make rookie mistakes. Have a unique beverage container that stands out in a crowd. You don't want to accidently swap drinks with another tailgater - and plastic cups individualized with Sharpies are for lightweights. Bring antacids. Not everyone's tailgate spread will be as good as yours. Also, if you don't want to end up tired and wet, make sure you bring chairs and are prepared for rain.
- Keep it clean. Bring water to put out the fire and for cleanup. Be sure to pack bleach wipes, paper towels, and trash bags so you can leave your area as clean as you found it.
- Make memories. Don't forget your camera—or camera phone. Even better, start a tailgate guest book or have a large banner that can be signed by team celebrities and your favorite tailgate neighbors.
