BURLINGTON, Mass., June 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- 128 Technology, a leader in session-oriented routing, announced that NEC Networks and System Integration Corporation (NESIC) has deployed the 128T Networking Platform (128T) to interconnect four sites in Tokyo, Kanagawa, Osaka, and Myanmar. In addition to using 128T for its own use, NESIC will also offer 128T to its approximately 5,000 enterprise, telecommunication, and government customers worldwide to improve the quality, security, and reliability of their wide area networks (WANs).
Headquartered in Tokyo with 62 offices around the globe, NESIC provides integrated solutions and services covering all areas of information and communications technology – from planning and consultation to system design, system integration, and construction, as well as maintenance, operation, outsourcing, and business process outsourcing.
"Current networks are interconnected by complex, cumbersome technology that is costing a fortune and not fulfilling key security requirements. We evaluated emerging SD-WAN offerings, along with the 128T platform, and found that with 128T we can more simply and securely interconnect customer sites," said Michitaka Oono, General Manager of the Global Carrier Division at NESIC. "We believe 128T is the future of networking technology. And, because of our success with this new approach, we've decided to add the 128T platform to our portfolio of IT services and solutions, so we can help customers facing similar challenges."
128T is based on Secure Vector Routing (SVR) technology, a fundamentally new approach to networking that enables 128 Technology customers to build context-aware networks that can easily, dynamically, and securely stretch across network boundaries – without relying on costly tunneling and overlay technologies. 128T addresses a broad spectrum of routing applications from the branch office, across the WAN, and within and between private and public clouds. 128T is software-based and can be easily deployed to either augment or replace existing network routing solutions, streamlining adoption and speeding time-to-value. 128 Technology customers like NESIC can both build and offer networks that provide greater agility, security, and control between distributed locations at a much lower cost.
"It is impossible to transform the network by relying on incremental improvements to an already complex, burdened network construct – you need a fundamentally different approach," said Andy Ory, co-founder and CEO of 128 Technology. "We are thrilled that our partners at NESIC recognize this, and are working with 128 Technology to provide its customers with service-centric networks that are simpler, smarter, more secure, and more cost-effective."
