Nebraska Total Care partners with Habitat for Humanity of Omaha
OMAHA, Neb., Jan. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Nebraska Total Care announced today that they are partnering with Habitat for Humanity of Omaha (Habitat Omaha) to provide support to new Habitat homeowners. At the Home Dedication Ceremony, Nebraska Total Care will present a gift card to each Habitat homeowner to help them purchase needed items for their new home.
"We are pleased to support Habitat Omaha and the families they serve," said Ryan Sadler, Plan President of Nebraska Total Care. "These goals align with Nebraska Total Care's mission to improve health and overall wellness for all Nebraskans. We are excited for the opportunity to support these individuals and families as they reach on this important milestone."
Habitat Omaha builds strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter. New and renovated homes are sold to low-income families at the full appraised value through a 20 to 30-year affordable mortgage. Families are selected based on housing need, ability to pay and willingness to partner. This year, Habitat Omaha will build or renovate 42 homes in the community.
Affordable housing allows families to:
- Provide stability for their children
- Gain improved health, physical safety and security
- Increase educational and job prospects
- Be engaged in their communities
"We welcome Nebraska Total Care to the community and thank them for their support of Habitat Families as they embark on a new, exciting chapter of their lives as first time homeowners," Kathy Roum, Sr. Director of Development and Marketing, Habitat Omaha.
