Nearly 25 Percent of Dickey's Barbecue Franchisees Own Multi-Units
Existing Owners Continue Investing in America's Fastest Growing Quick-Serve Barbecue Chain
DALLAS, May 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Despite a sluggish economy, Dickey's Barbecue Pit has become the fastest growing barbecue chain in the country, a feat largely due to multi-unit franchise owners.
"Multi-unit franchise owners witness dramatic results with more immediate gratification. Single-unit owners see success, but they also need more patience," said Richard Phillips, director of franchise development for Dickey's Barbecue Restaurant, Inc.
In the most recent study, nearly 25 percent of all Dickey's franchises were found to be operated by multi-unit franchise owners.
"With the required managerial abilities coupled with the financial resources, owning multiple Dickey's locations is a viable option for our owner/operators to see considerably larger profits. Existing owners want to continue investing in Dickey's, which proves that we offer a successful business model," said Roland Dickey Jr., President of Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants, Inc.
While other businesses are closing shop, Dickey's is opening its doors coast to coast with 146 locations now open in 33 states.
"We serve comfort food at a low price point, which sells in a bad economy," Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. President Roland Dickey, Jr. said. "But, what sets us apart from other fast-casual concepts is that the quality of our meats and sides are never compromised. This keeps our franchisees successful and our customers happy."
The company's annual growth rate over the past 2 years is averaging 35 percent, according to DBRI.
"The price point of our food is low and the cost to open a new Dickey's location is affordable," Dickey said. "We offer people around the country a chance to become their own boss without the initial financial scare."
Dickey said his franchise partners across the nation are seeing the benefits of their investment as the restaurant is steadily profitable in good times and bad.
Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. plans to open 70 more franchise locations in 2011, putting its year-end target at 200.
The original location opened in 1941 in Dallas, TX and is still open for business.
DBRI is still owned and operated by the Dickey Family.
Committed to exceptional quality, Dickey's slow smokes all of their signature meats overnight in every restaurant.
