NCQA Grants Patient and Practitioner Oriented Accreditation to SynCare Promise Program(TM) for Prenatal Care
INDIANAPOLIS, Feb. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- SynCare, LLC has received National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Patient and Practitioner Oriented Full Accreditation for its high-risk pregnancy program, the SynCare Promise Program™ for Prenatal Care.
Employers, consumers, regulators, and health plans turn to NCQA Accreditation as the gold standard in evaluating health care quality. A voluntary process in Indiana, NCQA Accreditation is a rigorous, comprehensive, and transparent evaluation process through which the quality of the systems, processes, and results that define a disease management company is assessed.
"NCQA Accreditation standards are intended to help organizations achieve the highest level of performance possible, reduce patient risk, and create an environment of continuous improvement," noted Stephanie DeKemper, SynCare CEO. "I commend our leadership team and staff for this remarkable achievement."
A flagship program for SynCare, the Promise Program is devised to improve clinical outcomes for expectant mothers and their newborns. Goals of the multi-faceted prenatal care program are to:
- Increase early access to prenatal care
- Improve compliance with routine prenatal care and proper nutrition
- Improve compliance with prescribed medications including prenatal vitamins
- Reduce related medical expenses associated with complications in pregnancy
- Increase birth weights and gestational age at delivery
- Decrease NICU admissions and length of stay
"NCQA DM Accreditation demonstrates that an organization is well suited to deliver programs to manage care for the seriously or chronically ill. And it's a difficult test -- it says a lot that an organization is willing to step forward to be reviewed." said NCQA Executive Vice President Greg Pawlson, M.D.
