NCAA Selects Leo Burnett USA As Lead Advertising Agency
CHICAGO, Sept. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Leo Burnett USA announced its selection as lead advertising, branding and communications agency for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The assignment includes strategic planning, creative development and national advertising. The account will be led from Leo Burnett Detroit.
"The passion Leo Burnett brought to the pitch made a real impact. They served up a simple, singular idea that will come to life across a number of different platforms," said Bob Williams, NCAA Vice President of Communications. "We are excited for Burnett to help transform perceptions of the NCAA and boost awareness and advocacy for the positive values of intercollegiate athletics."
With the selection of a new agency partner, the NCAA is extending its scope, from a TV-centric PSA approach to a multi-platform one that includes digital, social and non-traditional media. The first campaign produced by Leo Burnett will launch in the spring of 2013.
"The NCAA is looking to re-energize its branding and communications and we're proud to be just the right partner to help them," said Rich Stoddart, President, Leo Burnett North America. "Our teams are excited about the opportunity to do smart, engaging strategic and creative work for a brand with a strong purpose."
"With NCAA, our goal is to produce a meaningful and authentic creative product that changes the conversation from what the NCAA does to why they do it," said Steve Chavez, Executive Creative Director, Leo Burnett Detroit. "We look forward to the journey ahead."
This is Leo Burnett Group's 16th new business win over the last year in the U.S.
