'George to the Rescue' Airing at 11:30 a.m., Sunday, November 7th, & 12:30 a.m., Monday, November 8th on NBC 5
DALLAS and FORT WORTH, Texas, Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- "George to the Rescue," NBC 5's home makeover show, is providing a surprise renovation for a Euless, Texas, family challenged by medical expenses.
"George to the Rescue" will air at 11:30 a.m., Sunday, November 7, 2010, and at 12:30 a.m. Monday, November 8, 2010.
Jennifer Conway, a muscular dystrophic, wheel-chair bound, thirty-two year old is working to get her parents a surprise renovation of their dated 1970s-era ranch home in Euless, Texas. Jennifer's medical expenses come first, so the recent discovery of a benign tumor in her brain and the treatment of new sores on her feet, have eaten up any spare money that her parents had put aside for a home remodel.
Joel and Kitty Conway surprised their daughter, Jennifer, with a bedroom makeover in 2006 and now she wants to do the same for them. With no job or means to do so, Jennifer turned to "George to the Rescue" for help. Jennifer wants to show thanks to her parents for everything they've done during her tumultuous 32-year fight.
Shane Golden of Venetian Homes is working with "George to the Rescue" host, George Oliphant, to create a new living room, new master bedroom, ramp to the outdoors, and a wealth of technology to make Jennifer Conway's life easier.
"This is a wonderful story for North Texas," Oliphant says. "The local contractor, our show team and NBC 5 pitch in to make the Conway's daily lives more livable. I think the NBC 5 audience will love it."
"George to the Rescue" is one of six episodes produced by NBC's LX.TV division and provided to NBC owned and operated stations nationwide. Show host, George Oliphant's regular program, LX.TV's Open House, airs weekly on NBC 5.
NBC 5 / KXAS-TV / NBCDFW is the NBC Owned and Operated media center serving the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.
