Navy Federal Updates Advance Pay Plans to Include Department of Defense Civilian Employees
VIENNA, Va., April 8, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Navy Federal Credit Union announced a clarification this morning to its plans to support its members in the event of government shutdown as of midnight April 8. Civilian employees of the Department of Defense who are paid through DFAS and have their direct deposit of pay established with Navy Federal will also receive advanced pay for their first scheduled payday following the shutdown. This follows the Credit Union's April 7 announcement that it would cover the April 15 payroll for those active duty members who have their direct deposit with Navy Federal.
"As a credit union serving the men and women of the Department of Defense—and their families—we believe that it is fitting that we support the civilian employees as well as those in uniform," said Cutler Dawson, Navy Federal President and CEO. "We hope that this advance of direct deposit pay will ease some of the uncertainty, should our members have to deal with a government shutdown."
Navy Federal will also offer expedited approvals for lines of credit and loans and personal assistance for any members concerned about loan payments.
