Navico Joins Forces With CMC Electronics to Centralize Distribution in Canada
TULSA, Okla., July 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Navico, the world leader in recreational marine electronics, announced today it has joined forces with marine electronics distributor CMC Electronics -- a wholly owned subsidiary of Esterline Corporation -- to centralize Canadian distribution of products within its brands, and to enhance customer care and support. Effective October 4, 2010, CMC will have exclusive distribution rights for the Lowrance, Simrad, and B&G brands, making the distributor the sole source for Navico-owned marine electronics brands in Canada.
Focused on strengthening the position of the Lowrance, Simrad and B&G brands in Canada, this agreement unites the global electronics manufacturer with the leader in Canadian marine electronics distribution and customer care, a key success factor in this important market. With local warehouses and extensive customer service and support facilities, CMC is ideally positioned to support the requirements of recreational and professional customers throughout Canada.
Navico and CMC Electronics have entered into discussions on how to best integrate Navico's operations in Canada into CMC in order to ensure a smooth transition for sales, logistics, and customer support.
"We look forward to strengthening our relationship with CMC," said Louis Chemi, chief operating officer, Navico Americas. "Having already demonstrated their ability to actively supply the marine industry with world-class customer support and a rapid response time from their local warehouses, CMC's new association with Navico represents a tremendous opportunity for the Lowrance, Simrad and B&G brands through enhanced customer and technical support, strategically warehoused inventories and streamlined warranty-replacement programs for Canadian dealers."
"We are excited about expanding our relationship with Navico, its products, resellers and customers," said Bill Coady, General Manager of the NavComm Electronics Group of CMC. "By partnering with Navico, we are now able to offer a complete line of products to all sectors of the Canadian marine electronics industry including, the Fresh Water, Coastal Recreation, and Commercial markets.
