Navarre President Shows Confidence in the Future of the Spanish Economy to Investors in New York
Navarre Government, February 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The president of Navarre culminated last Wednesday's trade mission organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, SODENA and the Navarre Guarantee of Origin Regulatory Board. Sanz took part in the demonstrations given to specialized journalists and New York distributors with representatives of the thirteen wineries participating in the "VII Navarre Week in America".
Sanz said that the 12% increase in Navarre wine exports, and the 35% increase in exports of material related to renewable energy during the past year shows the success of their government's globalization policies. He also praised the sponsors of initiatives such as the "Navarre Week in America", noting the discrepancy of those welcoming the globalization Navarre companies and at the same time criticizing the institutional support of promotional activities abroad. As indicated, it is time to put aside any complexes and show determination to succeed in foreign markets. For this, there should be events such as the one now having completed its seventh round in New York. The Navarre designer and businessman Mike Urmeneta, who was present at the tasting held at the "W" Hotel in Union Square on his return from Los Angeles also expressed his support and applauded the organization of such promotional events.
CONFIDENCE IN SPAIN
The Navarre institutional mission analyzed the downturn of the economic crisis with members of the "Club Gardoqui" Spanish professionals living in New York - among them professors at Columbia University, consulting partners such as KPMG as well as investment fund handlers and delegates from companies such as Banco Santander, Telefonica - Gamesa.
Sanz showed confidence in the Spanish economy's future and defended agreements between the two majority parties in Spain that enable necessary reforms. The New York based experts said the problem is that international investors have doubts about the real situation of the Spanish economy. They put forth as an example of austerity that Navarre is one of the few regions that has resisted the temptation to open representative offices in the United States.
