Naval Special Warfare Group Four Named Finalist in 2012 Excellence.gov Awards
Project Built on BizFlow by HandySoft
FALLS CHURCH, Va., Feb. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- HandySoft (www.handysoft.com), a leading provider of Business Process Management (BPM) technology and solutions, is proud to announce that one of their customers, the Naval Special Warfare Group Four's (NSWG4) Government Purchase Card Program, has been named a finalist in the 2012 Excellence.gov Awards in the 'Excellence in Enterprise Efficiencies' category.
The Excellence.gov Awards were created in 2001 by the American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC) to acknowledge and recognize government programs that use information technology to advance the business of government in an effective, efficient and innovative manner. Nominations in the category of 'Excellence in Enterprise Efficiencies' were judged by both government and industry representatives on how the program improves the internal operations of government organizations.
NSWG4's program was developed in response to their need to improve efficiency, transparency, and reliability of their processing system to ensure their ability to complete missions with fewer available assets. The solution expertly weaves Lean Six Sigma and dynamic BPM into a system called SWIFT (Special Warfare Information Fast Tracker) -- which successfully met this challenge, and exceeded expectations. Within a 6 month time-frame, SWIFT was up and running, and NSWG4 had an automated workflow solution in place that reduced procurement lead time, improved accuracy, visibility, and all around satisfaction and improved performance of the Government Purchase Card Program (GPCP) process. Built upon BizFlow, HandySoft's automated business process workflow software application, and guided by input and active participation from the SWIFT team and consultants RF Logistics, this solution provides visibility into the process, standardization, and forcing function for over 6,000 purchases and $5.2 million spent annually.
"We're honored that NSWG4's Government Purchase Card Program was chosen as a finalist in the 2012 Excellence.gov Awards," said Harry Clarke, President and CEO, HandySoft. "As a finalist in these prestigious awards, it's clear that government and industry representatives saw the value of the program in improving internal operations."
Winners will be announced at a luncheon in Washington, D.C. on March 13, 2012 where keynote speaker Teri Takai, CIO for the Department of Defense, will recognize the outstanding government programs that use information technology to improve government services.
