Nature Valley® Announces National Park Foundation Partnership with Multi-Million Dollar Commitment
Partnership will seek to protect and enhance America's national parks for generations to come by helping drive awareness and urgency of our parks' needs
MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 30, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Nature Valley® granola bars has a long history of supporting and protecting America's national parks. Today, as an extension of its support, Nature Valley announced a partnership with the National Park Foundation (NPF), the official nonprofit partner to the National Park Service, for the Find Your Park/Encuentra Tu Parque movement. Nature Valley's support includes a three-year commitment and a donation of up to $3 million.
"Nature Valley has existed to connect people to the energy they get from nature and a key way we can all connect to nature is by exploring our national treasures, the national parks," said Angela Rassi, director of marketing for Nature Valley. "One of the things that unites the people that we serve is their love of spending time in nature and we feel like now more than ever the national parks need their supporters to step up and take a more active role in preserving them for generations to come."
Nature Valley fans can help increase the donation to the National Park Foundation by picking up a 6-count box of Nature Valley Oats & Honey at retailers across the country. For every box purchased between March 1 and May 15, 2018, Nature Valley will donate $0.10 to NPF, up to $750,000.
"Nature Valley's support inspires people to give back to the national treasures we all share and love," said Will Shafroth, president of the National Park Foundation. "The National Park Foundation is thrilled to partner with Nature Valley to raise funds and awareness that will help ensure a bright future for our National Park System."
To help raise awareness, Nature Valley will also be supporting everyday hikers who are passionate about the outdoors and exploration to tell their individual stories of what nature, and America's national parks in particular, mean to them.
"Our newest ad, titled Give Back, creatively approaches what nature gives us through the eyes of those who love it most," said Rassi. "We hope it will inspire more people to want to support our parks and find their own ways to explore nature."
In addition to the donation, Nature Valley is encouraging consumers to make a difference through participating in public national park volunteer events and additional donations to the National Park Foundation. Fans are also encouraged to share how they are making a change on social media, tagging @NatureValley and @GoParks and using #NatureGives, #FindYourPark, and #EncuentraTuParque.
The partnership also supports the National Park Foundation's Centennial Campaign for America's National Parks. To date, this comprehensive fundraising campaign to strengthen and enhance the future of America's treasured national parks has raised nearly $470 million in private donations from individuals, foundations, and companies.
