Natron Energy Appoints Energy Storage Veterans Dr. Robert Rogan and Jack Pouchet to Executive Team
Natron Expands Management Team to Commercialize Prussian Blue Battery Technology for EV Charging, Back-up Energy Storage
SANTA CLARA, Calif., April 23, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Natron Energy, a provider of battery products using Prussian blue electrode chemistry, announces the appointment of two well-established energy storage veterans, Dr. Robert Rogan and Jack Pouchet. Rogan will serve as Chief Business Officer, and Pouchet will lead Natron's sales team as Vice President of Sales.
"Natron Energy is raising the bar in performance, reliability, safety and environmental friendliness of energy storage based on our patented Prussian blue technology," said Colin Wessells, CEO of Natron Energy. "We are excited to bring Robert and Jack to the Natron team as their vast technical and industry expertise will be invaluable as we transform industrial and grid energy storage by providing customers with lower cost, longer lasting, more efficient, and safer batteries."
Rogan joins Natron Energy from SunPower where he managed strategy, business development, and marketing groups. Additionally, Rogan built an energy storage business at SunPower into a market leader in 2.5 years. Previously, he led eSolar's efforts to close 429 megawatts of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) worth $2.5 billion.
Dr. Rogan holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech).
Pouchet joins Natron from Vertiv where he served as Vice President of Business Development. Prior to Vertiv, he spent 15 years with Emerson Network Power as Director of Energy Initiatives and Vice President of Market Development. In these roles, he worked with customers, industry, academia, government and international agencies on energy efficiency and responsibility issues while defining new products and platforms. Before Emerson, Pouchet held sales and marketing roles at MGE UPS Systems, Racal Instruments, and Lambda.
Pouchet holds a BA in Business Management and an MBA from California Pacific University. He also is active with industry and sustainability associations including the Infrastructure Masons and The Green Grid.
Natron's patented technology uses Prussian blue pigment which has been used for centuries in paint (Renoir, Van Gough, Picasso), dye for blue jeans, blueprints, and medicine. Prussian blue chemistry stores and releases energy in the form of sodium ions. Unlike electrode materials found in most lithium-ion batteries, Prussian blue enjoys widespread availability and low cost that make batteries using Prussian blue electrodes economical, safe and environmentally friendly.
