The MM04, which was designed by award-winning designer Michael Young and acoustically engineered by sound specialist NXT, is a high-performance Bluetooth stereo speaker system, professional conference call unit and cell phone handset with noise reduction technology. The unit utilizes a Bluetooth 2.1 chip to connect with wireless computers and mobile phones within a range of 30 feet, allowing users to conduct both Internet and cell phone calls via the speakers in conference call mode or via the handset for private calls. The conference call can clearly be heard within a 10-foot range.
The advanced Multi-point Bluetooth chip enables the MM04 to be paired with two mobile devices at the same time, and also features auto pick-up/hang-up and auto connect/disconnect. Available in taupe/copper or black/silver, the design incorporates a mobile handset/speaker unit, weighted charging base and protective phone mat. The MM04 is finished with a luxurious, soft touch 'rubberized' paint and a unique sanded aluminium face.
Key MM04 features:
- Three modes: Private call / Conference call / Music playback
- Talk-time 6h / Music Playback time 2h / Standby time 120h
- Bluetooth V2.1 + EDR
- Bluetooth Multi-point – allowing simultaneous Bluetooth connections to two devices (i.e. cell phone and wireless computer)
- Music control through A2DP profile
- 2 x 2W high quality speakers
- Acoustically engineered by NXT
- Noise reduction system
- Call answering by direct pick-up of handset from base
- Patented design
Also being revealed at the Pepcom event is a new line of Pop Phones, a bright and vibrant take on the already-popular MM01H Retro handset, which combines classic style with a contemporary edge as envisioned by acclaimed French designer David Turpin. Available in a rainbow of colors that "pop," including pink, yellow, dark purple, dark blue and green, the Pop Phones feature a high quality speaker and microphone, and can be used with all mobile phones, when fitted with the correct adapter. When paired with a USB adaptor, the handset can be used for VOIP computer telephone calls (Skype, Google Talk). The handset, fitted with a 3.5 mm jack, also turns an iPad into a telephone.
Key Pop Phone features:
- The 3.5mm jack plugs directly into the iPhone, Blackberry and the latest Macbooks
- One touch button for pick-up/hang-up directly from the handset
- Noise reduction system
- Soft touch finish
- Patented design
In addition to functional benefits, both lines also deliver compelling health benefits to consumers when used as a telephone handset, as each dramatically reduces exposure to the radiation emitted by mobile devices, which is linked to an increased risk of cancer. Independent testing by TUV, the world's leading certification company, found that Native Union's handsets reduce radiation by 96 percent.
The MM04 is priced at $199.99, while the Pop Phones are $30.00 available at www.nativeunion.com and www.amazon.com.
