MOSCOW, September 24, 2018 /PRNewswire/ --
National License Agreement was signed by State Public Library for Science and Technology
Elsevier, the global information analytics business specializing in science and health, and the Russian State Public Library for Science and Technology announced the signing of a National License Agreement (NLA) to provide more than 1,200 research and educational organizations in Russia with access to Elsevier's Scopus database. The collaboration aims to support Russia's growth in research output and quality and support the country's aim to further develop its knowledge-based economy.
"With research becoming collaborative and interdisciplinary, it is important that the Russian research community has access to advanced information resources. The project of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia on providing licensed access to state research and educational organizations to international databases of scientific citation indexes was aimed at solving this problem," said Y.L. Shraiberg, General Director of the Russian National Public Library for Science and Technology. "Collaboration with Elsevier, a leading company in analytics, and gaining access to Scopus, will significantly strengthen research capabilities and academic achievements of Russian scientists."
Scopus is the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature, covering more than 71 million articles, books and conference papers, and draws its content from more than 23,700 journals published by 5,000 publishers. This comprehensive Scopus solution of which its data is also used for world university rankings including THE University Ranking and QS, will provide Russian researchers with access to world's quality scientific data and tools that will allow them to track and analyze global research trends, benchmark own results on an international level and find partners across the globe. Additionally, access to Scopus will help increase the quality and visibility of Russian research output, enhance productivity of research workflow and will play an essential role in research strategy planning at all levels.
"Elsevier is proud to serve the Russian scientific community with data-based solutions like Scopus, and we are excited for the progress of national research to come through this partnership," said YS Chi, Chairman of Elsevier.
