WASHINGTON, Oct. 14, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- As water shortages continue to plague California, mayors from across the country will be meeting in Los Angeles, CA for The United States Conference of Mayors (USCM) Water Summit from October 15 through October 16, 2015. The forum will focus on a variety of issues surrounding public water services, including infrastructure investment, new regulatory initiatives, unfunded mandates, quality standards and affordability, as well as best practices.
Ranking member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment, U.S. Representative Grace Napolitano (D-CA) will speak with the group. Regional representatives from the EPA also will meet with Mayors during the two-day gathering to discuss water quality standards and green infrastructure projects.
This Summit is the annual event of USCM's Water Council, a task force that assists cities in their efforts to provide safe, affordable and adequate water and wastewater services and infrastructure. Indianapolis (IN) Mayor Gregory A. Ballard is the current Chair of USCM's Water Council.
