Nationally Recognized Financial Regulatory Attorney Leonard Chanin Rejoins Morrison & Foerster

WASHINGTON, Sept. 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Morrison & Foerster LLP welcomes Leonard Chanin as a Partner in its Washington, D.C. office as a member of the firm's Financial Services Practice. 

The firm had previously announced that Mr. Chanin was leaving his post at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), where he served as Assistant Director of the Office of Regulations, to rejoin Morrison & Foerster.  Morrison & Foerster's consumer finance practice has been at the forefront of regulation for decades.  Mr. Chanin's insights on consumer regulation will provide an important added resource for clients.  While at the CFPB, Mr. Chanin led the legal team promulgating rules and regulations implementing new consumer financial protection laws, as well as offering compliance advice under the various consumer financial protection statutes for which the CFPB now has rule-writing authority.
