National Women's Business Council Unveils New Website
User friendly, updated site to help outreach efforts
WASHINGTON, Nov. 21, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Women's Business Council (NWBC) unveiled a redesigned website Monday that will make it easier for the public and NWBC constituents to learn about the research and other work the Council is conducting to help women entrepreneurs.
The new website, found at www.nwbc.gov, is part of the Council's ongoing efforts to widely relay its work on issues important to women business owners. The site will allow the public to better learn about NWBC's current research topics, from which the Council bases its annual recommendations to the president, Congress and the U.S. Small Business Administration.
The website also will help improve NWBC outreach efforts by making it easier for the public to:
- Learn about upcoming NWBC meetings, Council members and the contributions each member's business background makes to the Council;
- Be notified when the NWBC releases its annual report, which will include a range of policy and program recommendations aimed at fostering women's business enterprise;
- Read detailed research reports, including next week's release on female business owners tracked in the Census Bureau's Survey of Business Owners.
The NWBC is a nonpartisan federal advisory council created to serve as an independent source of advice and policy recommendations to the president, Congress and the SBA on economic issues of importance to women business owners.
The Council is the government's only independent voice for women entrepreneurs. It is made up of 15 prominent women business owners and leaders of women's business organizations. Each member is appointed to a three-year term.
