WASHINGTON, Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- National Save for Retirement Week, now in its fourth year, will take place October 17–23. This event is a national effort established by Congress to raise public awareness about the importance of saving for retirement.
ICMA-RC, an independent financial services corporation dedicated to building retirement security for public employees, actively supports the event each year by providing local and state government employers with promotional materials and assistance in planning educational activities throughout the week.
In addition, this year, ICMA-RC is hosting a series of targeted financial educational webinars targeted to public employees. The webinars will be presented by ICMA-RC's CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professionals each day of the week.
"National Save for Retirement Week brings awareness to all workers about the importance of saving now for a secure future," said Joan McCallen, President and CEO of ICMA-RC. "We encourage local and state governments across the nation to get involved in this worthwhile effort by adopting local National Save for Retirement Week resolutions and planning activities for their employees."
