National Safety Council Calls for Nominations for 2016 Class of Rising Stars of Safety

ITASCA, Ill., April 7, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Safety Council is accepting nominations for the 2016 NSC Rising Stars of Safety Awards. This annual recognition honors 40 individuals younger than 40 that have demonstrated leadership, innovation and engagement in their organization's safety culture while continuing to strive for improvement.

NSC invites organizations to nominate an employee who:

The mission of the National Safety Council is to save lives by preventing injuries and deaths at work, in homes and communities and on the road through leadership, research, education and advocacy.

Displays leadership attributes that set the nominee apart from his or her peers
Initiates and/or leads a successful safety initiative with measurable results
Engages peers and transforms the safety culture of the organization
Values safety as a critical part of business operations

Selected NSC Rising Stars of Safety will be featured in Safety+Health magazine and receive discounted admission to the 2016 NSC Congress & Expo in Anaheim in October. Honorees receive exclusive access to workshops and events that foster networking and collaboration.

Candidates can be nominated online at nsc.org/risingstars by May 13, 2016. Organizations are allowed to nominate multiple candidates, but only one honoree per company can be chosen.
