National Safety Council Accepting Nominations for Distinguished Service to Safety Awards

ITASCA, Ill., May 3, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Safety Council is accepting nominations for its Distinguished Service to Safety Awards, presented annually to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the safety movement and have inspired action in others. Winners will have a model for continuous improvement while also demonstrating the effectiveness of their actions and the impact they have had on others.

The mission of the National Safety Council is to save lives by preventing injuries and deaths at work, in homes and communities and on the road through leadership, research, education and advocacy.

"When it comes to safety professionals, the Distinguished Service to Safety Award nominees represent the best of us. Winners will have:

Sustained their impact on the safety movement on a local, national or international level
Provided exceptional service that has resulted in more effective or increased levels of injury and/or illness prevention, or assisted in furthering those goals
Contributed to the NSC mission
Evaluated their contribution for efficacy and impact
