NEWARK, N.J., Jan. 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- National Retail Solutions (NRS), operator of one of the nation's fastest growing point-of-sale networks for independent retailers, and Jetro, the leading wholesale cash and carry supplier of retail groceries, are partnering to help independent retailers and bodega owners become more profitable and compete more effectively against large retail chains by leveraging the power of NRS' point-of-sale (POS) network.
Jetro customers can now purchase NRS' POS terminals at all Jetro stores. The NRS terminals, which feature retailer and customer-facing digital screens, can display ads and promotions for consumer packaged goods (CPG) to customers before and during the purchasing process.
The partnership will also allow Jetro and CPG suppliers to reach retailers with special offers and discounts over the NRS platform.
Historically, many bodegas could not accept manufacturer coupons because there was no convenient method to provide verification of the associated retail transaction to the coupon issuer. Furthermore, CPG suppliers had no access to transactional sales data from the large urban and immigrant consumer market that purchases CPGs at local independent retailers.
NRS' rewards program, BR Club, solves these challenges and provides a solution that benefits retailers, CPG suppliers and consumers.
Through the NRS POS network and BR Club, independent retailers can conveniently offer discounts and special offers on popular CPGs, while seamlessly generating the associated sales data for the CPG supplier. CPG suppliers can now reach this robust urban and immigrant focused customer base more effectively with coupons and special offers. Finally, urban consumers can save on CPGs while shopping at local independent retailers.
"For years, CPG suppliers have sought a way to market efficiently to the inner-city consumer and tap into this huge market more effectively. Now, BR Club provides them with an important new urban-focused channel," said Eli Korn, VP of NRS.
BR Club's discount offers bring in customers, increase sales, and seamlessly integrate the Boss Revolution® suite of calling and payment services into the NRS POS network.
"It's tougher than ever for bodegas and other mom and pop retailers to compete against the big retail chains," said Elie Y. Katz, President of NRS. "We are delighted to team up with Jetro to help independent retailers become more profitable. Jetro is offering retailers our new POS terminals in all their stores, and together we will help independent retailers take full advantage of Jetro's low prices and special offers on products."
NRS currently has over 1800 terminals deployed with retailers around the country, and its network is growing rapidly. "We can't build and deploy the terminals quickly enough to meet the demand. Retailers love our POS network's capabilities. It provides a great tool to increase sales, lower costs, and compete with local chains," said Katz.
Jetro sells top quality national and regional brands to convenience stores, bodegas, and non-profit organizations. "We are delighted to leverage the power of the NRS platform to bring the advantages of Jetro to more retailers throughout the country," said Jetro's Senior Director of Purchasing, Jason Wang. "NRS' revolutionary POS network combined with BR club will help drive customer traffic to independent retailers while helping to lower their costs and make their operations more efficient."
