WASHINGTON, Dec. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The 2017 Virginia House of Delegates elections resulted in a substantial increase in Democratic representation across the commonwealth, a historic upset that, pending the recount results of four contested elections with razor-thin margins, could tip the scales toward Democratic control in the chamber for the first time since 1998.
On Tuesday, December 19 at 10 a.m. the National Press Club will host two of the incoming delegates whose compelling personal stories made for especially memorable democratic gains in this election, Chris Hurst (D-12) and Danica Roem (D-13), along with political analyst Geoffrey Skelley of the University of Virginia Center for Politics to tackle two key questions: what happened, and what does it all mean?
The discussion will be moderated by Bill Lord, former News Director at Washington CBS station WUSA. This press conference will take place in the club's Murrow Room and is open to credentialed media and Press Club members free of charge, with advance registration required. The National Press Club is located on the 13th Floor of the National Press Building at 529 14th St., NW, Washington, D.C.
