Currently, for-profit colleges and universities are among the fastest growing institutions in the higher education sector, and a high percentage of their students receive financial aid.

In his address, Senator Durbin plans to discuss the scope and rapid growth of the federal investment in for-profit higher education and the need to put protections in place to avoid abuses that might hurt students and taxpayers.
