WASHINGTON, Oct. 4, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In the spirit of the election season and in honor of the 60th anniversary of Eisenhower's presidential election, the National Press Club is hosting a discussion titled "Eisenhower in the Media" on Thursday, October 11, 2012, beginning at 6:30 PM in the Holeman Lounge.

The discussion will be moderated by Dr. James Thurber, American University distinguished professor, and Director of the Center for Congressional & Presidential Studies. Panelists for the discussion will include Evan Thomas, journalist and author of the recent publication, Ike's Bluff: President Eisenhower's Secret Battle to Save the World; James Newton, veteran journalist and author of Eisenhower: The White House Years; and Dr. Michael Birkner, historian and Eisenhower scholar at Gettysburg College.
For the interest of the participants there will be several renderings of the proposed Eisenhower Memorial available for viewing before and after the event.
