National Philanthropic Trust Partners With Giving USA Foundation
NPT to Share Proprietary Donor-Advised Fund Research
JENKINTOWN, Pa., April 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- National Philanthropic Trust (NPT), one of the top 25 largest grant-making institutions in the United States, announced it has partnered with Giving USA Foundation to highlight donor-advised fund (DAF) market trends in the foundation's publications.
"NPT is pleased to partner with Giving USA to share industry-leading trends about the fastest-growing giving vehicle in the US: donor-advised funds," said Eileen Heisman, NPT President and CEO. "Giving USA's research reports are among philanthropy's most-trusted sources of relevant, reliable giving data. The inclusion of detailed DAF research, for the first time, will assist donors and practitioners in understanding the benefits and popularity of DAFs. It demonstrates Giving USA Foundation's dedication to providing the most up-to-date information about philanthropy in America."
NPT's DAF report findings identify DAF trends, as well as the giving vehicle's impact on philanthropy. NPT will share this data in Giving USA's publications, including the "Annual Report on Philanthropy," historically released in June. Giving USA publications are published by Giving USA Foundation and are researched and written by the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.
Beginning with the "Giving USA Spotlight" published recently, NPT will share donor-advised fund market research, some of which is summarized in the Donor-Advised Fund Report. NPT's annual report examines IRS Form 990 filing data. In 2012, forms from 652 charitable organizations that sponsor donor-advised funds were reviewed to compile the report.
