National Peanut Board Awards Energy-Boosting Vacation in 'Energy to Burn' Sweepstakes
ATLANTA, Jan. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Daniel Hasselburg of Gosport, Ind. is the grand prize winner of an energy packed vacation to Florida in the National Peanut Board's Energy to Burn Sweepstakes.
The sweepstakes attracted more than 550,000 entries nationwide and celebrated the energy-boosting protein of USA-grown peanuts. In addition to the grand prize vacation, over 1,400 winners received instant prizes that ranged from Apple's iPad Mini and gift cards to products provided by the program co-presenters Hampton Farms, Planters and Skippy.
"Americans know peanuts as this country's favorite nut," said Bob Parker, president and CEO of the National Peanut Board. "That love is only magnified when they're reminded that peanuts have more protein than any other nut and more than 30 vitamins and minerals. That translates into long-lasting energy to tackle the kinds of opportunities each of us would like to do - such as taking an active vacation."
For, Hasselburg it truly was a big win and he's looking forward to taking his family on a much-needed getaway to warmer temperatures.
"We were very excited and surprised because we have not been on vacation for a long time. We plan to go to Walt Disney World and some other places in Florida," said Hasselburg. Peanuts and peanut butter are a popular item in the Hasselburg household. "We have peanut butter and jelly sandwiches all the time. I take peanut butter sandwiches when I go hunting for energy out in the woods."
