National Nonprofit Good360 Appoints Howard Sherman as Chief Executive Officer
Highly Respected Executive Brings Three Decades of Business Success to Product Philanthropy Leader
ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 23, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Good360, a global leader in product philanthropy and purposeful giving, is pleased to announce that Howard Sherman has been selected as Good360's new Chief Executive Officer. Sherman was most recently Global CEO of Doremus & Co., the global marketing agency (and unit of Omnicom Group), and will assume the new role on July 11, 2016.
As its global CEO, Sherman had responsibility for the worldwide network of Doremus, overseeing offices in New York, San Francisco, London, Hong Kong, Beijing and Frankfurt. He successfully repositioned Doremus into an award-winning, internationally recognized business-to-business agency and transformed the company into one of Omnicom's fastest-growing operating units, developing go-to market strategies for leading global brands like Corning, UL (Underwriters Laboratories), J&J, Pfizer Animal Health, Owens Illinois and Sun Life. In addition to his tenure and experience with Doremus, Sherman has over 20 years of consumer marketing experience with premier brands like Foster's, Hyundai, Miller Brewing, Saab, Dow Jones, Time Warner Cable and Microsoft.
In these roles, Sherman has helped shape some of the world's most complex brands and businesses and has demonstrated a track record of driving winning commercial and growth strategies in rapidly changing business environments.
"I am honored to have been selected as Good360's next CEO," commented Sherman. "It is a privilege to join an organization that is driven by such a clear purpose and that has such a meaningful positive impact, matching nonprofits around the world with corporations to distribute product donations. Good360 is revolutionizing in-kind giving with innovative solutions, including e-commerce and mobile platforms, and is at the forefront of transforming lives and strengthening local communities. This is a terrific opportunity that any leader would welcome and I am excited about the important work ahead."
Under Sherman's stewardship, Good360 will continue to grow its impact, having moved over $9 billion in donated goods to people in need since the organization's inception. Sherman's proven track record as a visionary strategist for dozens of brands and businesses positions Good360 well for future expansion and amplification. Interim CEO, Shabab Gruberg, will assume the role of President and will partner with Sherman to guide the overall business strategy of both Good360's core operations as well as its disaster recovery initiatives.
Bob Schwartz, Co-Chairman of the Good360 Board of Directors and CEO of 47B Street, said, "The Board is delighted to welcome Howard Sherman as CEO. Howard is a long-time friend of Good360, having supported the organization in the past with strategic marketing and branding initiatives. Given his history with us, we know that he understands our mission at all levels and can help us deliver even more impact in the future."
"Good360 is at an exciting time in its development," said Matt Connelly, Co-Chairman of the Good360 Board of Directors and Vice President of Operations for UPS, "and together with Howard, we look forward to extending our influence in both product philanthropy and disaster recovery. Howard's wealth of experience in shaping global brands and driving meaningful business results position him well for success in his new role."
Sherman is also Chair of the national Business Marketing Association and guided the organization's merger with the Association of National Advertisers. He is an undefeated USA Masters Boxer, competitive sailor, traveler and dedicated father of two daughters.
