National League of Cities Statement Following Announcement of Bipartisan Budget Agreement

WASHINGTON, Dec. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Following the announcement of budget agreement reached earlier tonight, National League of Cities (NLC) Executive Director Clarence Anthony released the following statement:

"We are glad that House and Senate negotiators have reached a bipartisan budget agreement that will hopefully provide a sound foundation that will prevent unnecessary fiscal crises over the next two years. While we are still examining the agreement for its impact on cities, we hope this signals that Congress is beginning the process of overcoming the chronic dysfunction in Washington and ending the unnecessary and counterproductive fights that we have seen over the past year.
