AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 17, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National League of Cities (NLC), the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the United States Interagency Council on Homeless (USICH), along with Mayor Lee Leffingwell will hold a forum on the Mayors Challenge to End Veteran Homelessness prior to the start of NLC's Annual Congress of Cities and Exposition.
The forum is a gathering of Mayors, Councilmembers and city staff from across the country as they learn about and discuss the tactics and tools being used to eliminate veteran homelessness. The event will take place on Tuesday, November 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Austin City Hall.
The Mayors Challenge is a national call to action to mayors across the nation to pledge to end veteran homelessness in their communities by 2015. More than 245 Mayors have signed onto the challenge since June.
