National Leader Sharon Woodworth -- Architect, Clinician, Author, Educator -- Joins Harley Ellis Devereaux (HED)'s Healthcare Practice
SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Sharon Woodworth, FAIA, ACHA, has joined the San Francisco office of national architecture and engineering firm Harley Ellis Devereaux (HED) co-leading the national healthcare design practice as Studio Leader. Woodworth is an accomplished architect with more than 20 years of experience that builds on her earlier career as a nurse and her ongoing work as an educator. This unique personal background and experience makes her an exceptional asset to clients across the healthcare sector. She provides an integrated perspective on care and the care environment that includes the latest research on stakeholder engagement, planning efficiencies, wellness and healing, and evidence-based design strategies.
"Sharon brings a unique perspective to HED's healthcare team from her early career days as a nurse to her extensive background in medical planning and design," says HED CEO J. Peter Devereaux, FAIA, LEED AP. "Her energy and expertise are a great addition to our healthcare practice, enhancing design excellence and thought leadership for our clients."
Prior to joining HED, Woodworth operated her own consultancy and worked with national architecture firms. She is an Assistant Professor at UCSF, where she teaches "Leadership in Healthcare Environments" to those earning a Master's in healthcare administration.
"As a healthcare architect," Woodworth says, "I help clients visualize a pathway forward, where the end goal is a model of care that isn't frozen in the past but is fluid enough to operate in tomorrow's complex future. This is the first step for 'healthcare in the age of the unknown,' where each step in the dance must balance a shifting choreography. I am thrilled to have joined HED because the firm shares my commitment to advancing design for healthcare providers and patients."
