National Latino Leader Gov. Bill Richardson Endorses Clyde Williams for Congress (NY-13)
NEW YORK, Nov. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today, former Governor of New Mexico Bill Richardson formally endorsed Clyde Williams' campaign for New York's 13th Congressional District.
Richardson said, "I am proud to endorse Clyde Williams to succeed my friend and former colleague Charlie Rangel. NY-13 is a diverse and dynamic community, and Clyde is the best candidate to build bridges, bring the community together, and serve the interests of all its constituents. Richardson served two terms as Governor of New Mexico and was a candidate for President in 2008. He represented New Mexico's 3rd District in Congress for 14 years, and served as Chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. He also served as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and Secretary of Energy under President Clinton.
Richardson joined former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle in co-hosting a major fundraiser for Clyde's campaign on November 9th that included former White House Chief of Staff Pete Rouse, former National Security Advisor Sandy Berger, former Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius, and former Director of the White House Domestic Policy Council Melody Barnes.

Clyde Williams, a former advisor to President Clinton and President Obama, announced his candidacy for Congress from NY-13 on October 19, 2015.
