National Information Assurance Partnership Designation Allowing Government Agencies to Use Unisys Stealth® Microsegmentation to Protect Classified Information Systems Broadened to Include Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016
Expansion includes newest version of Stealth™ on government list of Commercial Solutions for Classified Program Components, a guide for purchasing security products for classified systems
BLUE BELL, Pa., Feb. 22, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) today announced the U.S. government certification of Unisys Stealth® microsegmentation security software to protect classified information systems has been broadened to include those running on Microsoft 10 and Windows Server 2016. The expanded certification extends the range of systems that can leverage Stealth™ not only for the U.S. intelligence community and Department of Defense, but also for civilian agencies and governments in the 28 countries that recognize it.
This expanded certification follows the initial 2016 evaluation and accreditation of Stealth by the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) as meeting internationally-accepted standards for trusted security products and solutions. Established by the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) and the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology, NIAP certification is recognized by governments in countries such as Australia, Canada, Germany, India, Malaysia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
The broadened designation covers the latest version of Stealth, and also applies to the NSA's Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) program, opening the door to U.S. federal agencies, select foreign governments and critical infrastructure organizations to purchase Stealth within composite solutions that protect classified systems and data. Stealth is the only microsegmentation product currently listed as approved by the CSfC program.
"This independent validation demonstrates that all versions of Stealth meet the most stringent security requirements demanded by government agencies and private sector enterprises," said Mark Cohn, chief technology officer, Unisys Federal. "Only the most secure products achieve this designation."
With the CSfC approval, U.S. federal agencies can use Stealth in layered solutions protecting classified data, according to a statement by the NSA/Central Security Service's Information Assurance Directorate.
"Stealth continues to gain both government and commercial traction worldwide with total contract value up by more than 130 percent in 2017, based in part on the growth of the number of Stealth clients by 74 percent," said Tom Patterson, chief trust officer for Unisys. "Our Stealth product is providing a better and lower-cost approach to security, easily implementing identity-driven microsegments across data centers, clouds, mobile devices and industrial control systems throughout extended enterprises."
Stealth is one component of the Unisys security portfolio to provide clients with end-to-end security solutions, including security managed services, security consulting services and cybersecurity analytics consulting. For more information on Stealth, go to www.unisys.com/stealth.
