WRD Celebrates with its 5th Annual Groundwater Festival
LAKEWOOD, Calif., March 7, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Water Replenishment District of Southern California (WRD) encourages everyone to observe National Groundwater Awareness Week and to understand the vital importance of groundwater to the urban areas of southeast Los Angeles County, where 40% of the water used is groundwater. Rural areas of America are even more dependent on groundwater, which accounts for approximately 96% of the water supply.

WRD and its sponsors will celebrate National Groundwater Awareness Week with its 5th Annual "Treasure Beneath Our Feet" Groundwater Festival on Saturday, March 17, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at its headquarters, 4040 Paramount Blvd., Lakewood, CA 90712.
