National Grid Community And Customer Manager To Be Recognized At Brooklyn "Rising Stars" Event
Aaron Choo Supports NYC Efforts with Communities Recovering from Sandy
NEW YORK, March 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Aaron Choo, Manager, Community and Customer Management for National Grid – New York, will be recognized as one of the Brooklyn "Rising Stars." The award recognizes 40 top young professionals who exemplify outstanding leadership skills in their chosen field and in their community.
In his role for National Grid, Choo is responsible for maintaining strong local partnerships with New York City agencies to provide superior customer service. Choo works with the agencies to provide energy efficiency assistance to help them save energy and money, and reduce their carbon footprint for their buildings in Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island.

During Hurricane Sandy restoration efforts, Choo worked with New York City agencies to facilitate customers in the hardest hit areas reconnecting to National Grid's natural gas network. Choo coordinated with the City agencies on replacing all flood damaged gas equipment in customers' homes and restoring their gas service in real time.

Choo has a long career with National Grid. He joined the company in 2002 and has held positions in engineering and marketing.
He is the treasurer and a board member of the Association of Black Professionals, an employee resource group, which provides support and resources for the professional growth of National Grid employees and advances the company's Inclusion and Diversity vision. Choo is a member of the American Association of Blacks in Energy.
Choo has a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Hofstra University and a Master of Business Administration degree in finance from Baruch College. He is a licensed professional engineer in New York State. Choo is also one of the first Gates Millennium Scholars, which provides good-through-graduation scholarships for 1,000 talented students each year nationwide.
