First Chapter Meeting Held Last Week Featured Former Texas Secretary of State and U.S. Senate Candidate Roger Williams
HOUSTON, Feb. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Eagles and Angels Association (NEAA), a nationwide alliance of qualified individual investors and business angels, today reported that last week, its Houston Chapter welcomed its new founding members to the NEAA organization.
The inaugural meeting of the Houston Chapter, held at Hotel ZaZa in downtown Houston, was called to order by NEAA's founder and Chairman George R. Jarkesy, Jr. In his opening remarks, Jarkesy stated, "By standing together, we as members of the National Eagles and Angels Association will strive to organize and harness the collective wisdom, experience and capital of like-minded, patriotic Americans – here in Texas and in major markets across the U.S."
Continuing, Jarkesy noted, "As our organization's membership grows in strength and numbers, we expect to become a loud and respected voice for entrepreneurial growth companies that will indeed be heard on Main Street, on Wall Street and on Capitol Hill."
The inaugural event was marked by a powerful keynote address by former Texas Secretary of State and U.S. Senate-hopeful Roger Williams who emphasized the need for the U.S. government to empower America's small business owners and entrepreneurs through state and federal policy changes designed to promote new job creation and profitable growth. After the meeting, Williams stated, "The National Eagles and Angels Association is just the type of organization that this country needs. By linking experience, wisdom, contacts and capital, NEAA provides a key ingredient to put people back to work and grow American businesses." Following Williams' keynote speech, members saw corporate presentations from three entrepreneurial growth companies: America West Resources, Inc. (OTCBB: AWSR), TexCom, Inc. (Pink Sheets: TEXC), and S&W Seed Company, Inc. (Nasdaq: SANW).
The first meeting of NEAA's newly formed Dallas Chapter, which was scheduled to take place on Wednesday, February 9, 2011, was postponed due to severe weather conditions in the region. Details regarding the rescheduling of the Dallas Chapter launch will be announced soon at www.eagleandangel.com.
