National Disabled Veterans Business Council Enlists TransMedia Group to Publicize First Rankings of Companies for Veteran Hiring Practices In Concert With U.S. Department of Labor
BOCA RATON, Fla., Feb. 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Which companies do the best job hiring veterans? TransMedia Group (www.transmediagroup.com) was retained by the National Disabled Veterans Business Council to publicize how companies rank in terms of their veteran hiring practices.
The council's rankings will be based on research supplied by the U.S. Department of Labor in addition to other sources of information concerning how well America's companies are performing in hiring veterans.
The Council was founded by Joe Franklin, a retired U.S. Army Reserve Officer and last commander of the 423rd Medevac Unit. Franklin has more than 20 years of experience working in the veteran community, which makes him a well-respected general in the field of veteran hiring practices," said TransMedia CEO Tom Madden.
Franklin says his passion for working in veteran affairs has led him to create the first ever veteran workshop that was recognized by the State of New York. "I'm thrilled to pursue this dream even further now that we're represented by such an outstanding PR firm as TransMedia."
The organization is collaborating with the U.S. Department of Labor in conducting research on how America's top companies are performing in terms of employing best practices in hiring veterans. "The American taxpayer is supplying millions of dollars to programs designed to result in jobs for our returning heroes and these rankings will tell us which companies are doing the best and worst job in carrying out this objective," Franklin said.
After the research is completed and ranking compiled, TransMedia Group will assist the organization in releasing an official list of the companies ranked highest in veteran hiring practices. TransMedia said it will release the rankings to media periodically.
"Our veterans and members of the military are among the most important assets any company can have and we need to ensure corporate America is doing its very best to hire these important members of our community and our economy," said Madden.
"Our publicity will focus on Council events promoting the organization's mission and vision, including a two-day conference in April showcasing some of the highest-ranked companies and speakers advocating best hiring practices, including decorated veterans who will share their career success stories.
