National Director of Intake Will Provide Frontline Eating Disorder Support
Using her personal experience with eating disorders, Drema Stroud will help others get on a path to recovery at Rosewood Centers for Eating Disorders.
WICKENBURG, Ariz., May 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Drema Stroud has joined the staff of Rosewood Centers for Eating Disorders as the National Director of Intake. In this role, she will work with clients and their loved ones, along with physicians and other professionals, to share program options, assist inpatient admissions and complete other administrative responsibilities.
"Drema's focus is building a team that can reach out to our patients and help them get the treatment they need while removing barriers that may be in their path," said Lee R. Neagle, Rosewood's Executive Director. "She brings compassion and integrity to all that she does and we are extremely lucky to have her on the team."
The nation's leader in treating anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder and co-occurring substance use and mood disorders, Rosewood Centers for Eating Disorders is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of experts offering a comprehensive treatment and recovery program with specialized adolescent and adult eating disorder programs.
Intake – which includes calling Rosewood's patient and family help line – is sometimes the first action someone will take when seeking treatment.
"I view intake as a lifeline. Somebody is calling in because they are afraid. They recognize they need to get help for themselves or for someone else," Stroud said. "We do a lot of explaining about eating disorders. We let them know there is hope, there is help, and how we can make that happen for them."
Stroud's personal experience with eating disorders during high school inspired her to seek a career helping other people recover. She brings over 20 years of experience as an admissions coordinator and director of admissions to her position at Rosewood.
