National Decision Support Company Expands ACR Select with New Content Source Integrations
American Board of Internal Imaging Foundation's Choosing Wisely® initiative and other clinical content sources drive new functionality
ANDOVER, Mass., Dec. 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- National Decision Support Company (NDSC) is expanding the range of features to deliver new sources of criteria and reference information to continuously improve ACR Select and the company's content delivery platform. "Through these significant enhancements NDSC is upholding its mission to provide a flexible delivery mechanism for national standard appropriate use criteria," said Michael Mardini, CEO, NDSC. "Our initiatives are focused on presenting additional reference information to the user during the order entry process to support selection of the correct course of action for the patient."
Choosing Wisely®, an initiative of the American Board of Internal Medicine, is working to spark conversations between providers and patients to ensure the right care is delivered at the right time. These topics are now fully integrated and delivered through ACR Select as supporting evidence which allows physicians to compare Choosing Wisely® guidelines with ACR Select feedback as an integral part of the decision support workflow.
Other notable content sources are further enhancing the NDSC deliverable:
- Isabel™ diagnosis checklist tool has been integrated with ACR Select to provide physician access to differential diagnosis during the order entry process.
- NDSC has initiated negotiations to integrate American College of Cardiology appropriate use criteria through its delivery mechanism and is working toward availability in Q1 2015.
- Magnetic Resonance Safety data from MRISafety.com is being structured for delivery through NDSC's content platform to provide alerts at appropriate points in the electronic health record (EHR) workflow regarding the safety of a patient's implant inside MRI field strengths.
"It is extremely rewarding that these clinical content source providers have placed their trust in NDSC to deliver these valuable criteria through EHR workflows," said Mardini.
NDSC will be demonstrating its latest developments, including these new content source integrations, at RSNA 2014, booth #5504, November 30 – December 4, 2014, Chicago, IL.
