National Data Center Service Provider, CoreLink Data Centers, Announces Resignation of President Michael Duckett; Appointment of Jason Weisberger as Chief Technology Officer
Weisberger brings significant executive leadership experience to continue to drive CoreLink's growth in data center hosting and managed services
MT. PROSPECT, Ill., Oct. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- National data center service provider, CoreLink Data Centers, LLC (www.corelink.com) today announced the resignation of its President and COO, Michael Duckett, who has left the company to pursue other business opportunities. In addition, the company's board of directors has appointed Jason Weisberger to the newly created position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO), a role that he will assume Oct. 10th.
"With broad network engineering, as well as an operations- and product-related background, Jason Weisberger as CTO will further strengthen CoreLink's service offerings as our company experiences continued growth as a provider of data center hosting and managed services," said Charles Picasso, CoreLink Chairman and CEO. "We are excited to have Jason join CoreLink to help lead in these efforts."
Weisberger joins CoreLink from IPG/MediaBrands, where he served as COO spearheading the development of new advertising service models and products that leverage innovative technologies.
Prior to joining IPG/MediaBrands, Weisberger served as COO at Federated Media Publishing, where he was responsible for the social media advertising market leader's day-to-day management and performance during a period of explosive growth. Over a nearly 20-year career, he led engineering, development, operations, corporate development, product management and financial aspects of start up organizations to multinational members of the FTSE 100.
Weisberger has managed aggregate product lines in excess of $800 million and has closed more than $1 billion of merger and acquisition activities for companies including Pacific Bell, Cable and Wireless and Exodus Communications. As CTO and VP of Operations at SoftAware Inc., he played a vital role in growing that $50,000 start-up company's annual revenues to $20 million, leading to its public equity sale to Digital Island.
"CoreLink is well-positioned to build upon its strong foundation as the company of choice for clients across a variety of industries demanding ways to increase system reliability and security and better manage data center costs by outsourcing complex IT infrastructure responsibilities," Weisberger said. "The team is committed to providing the relentless service and support clients have come to expect from CoreLink. I look forward to building upon CoreLink's heritage and providing customers even more than what they've come to expect."
In addition to his new role with CoreLink, Weisberger, who has a long track record in digital publishing, will continue to serve as publisher of Boing Boing, the Web's leading independent voice on Internet culture and esoterica, as well as on the board of directors of Marketing Evolution.
