CHICAGO, Jan. 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- MakeOffices, a leading national coworking and private office space company, is bringing its popular "collaborative collisions" spaces to Chicago's vibrant coworking scene. The company has announced that it will officially open its first two Chicago locations on February 1, with a launch party at One North State on February 11.
At River North Point at 350 North Orleans, MakeOffices will open an approximately 45,000-square-foot coworking space featuring 145 private offices, 112 open desks, 11 conference rooms, 10 private call rooms, a 50-person training area and a 4,500 square foot community hub that doubles as a 200-person event space. At One North State, MakeOffices will eventually offer a three-floor, 75,000-square-foot location. The spaces, larger than most Chicago-area coworking centers, are designed to create optimal coworking environments that serve as a platform for transformation and growth.
"Chicago has emerged as a strong innovation hub with a world-class startup ecosystem and a rich talent pool, making it a natural city for MakeOffices expansion," said MakeOffices CEO, Raymond Rahbar. "We're excited to open our first Chicago locations to serve entrepreneurs, freelancers, and businesses large and small with productive workspaces and services."
MakeOffices at River North Point is ideally located near restaurants, shopping, and nightlife in the thriving River North neighborhood, and access to the Merchandise Mart Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) train station is available without going outside. Other major transit and bus stations are also nearby, including a short walk to both Metra commuter rail terminals at Ogilvie and Union Stations. The space is beautifully designed to promote productive collaboration, creating an optimal coworking environment for people to both get work done privately, while offering spaces conducive to networking with like-minded professionals.
The MakeOffices Central Loop location at One North State, owned by FD Stonewater, will also open on February 1. It will immediately become one of the city's largest coworking centers, at a planned total of 75,000 square feet across three floors. The first floor with a 200-person event space will open February 1, followed by a second floor on October 1, and planned expansion to the full size in 2018.
Details of the Streeterville location are expected to be announced in early February. The Avison Young brokerage team of Nate Krill (national), John Ziesmer and Kevin Moore (Chicago) is representing MakeOffices in their Chicago lease transactions.
MakeOffices members enjoy flexibility with month-to-month leases and space options that grow with a member's team, without the burden and capital commitment of a long-term lease. By providing office infrastructure and all-inclusive amenities, including fast WiFi and 24/7 access, for a low monthly rate, members can save money and spend time growing their businesses. Onsite refreshments for members include coffee, tea, beer, and filtered water—all without a trip outside into the cold Chicago Winter.
