National Community Health Worker Conference--UNITY 2014--Releases Preliminary Program Today
BALTIMORE, March 27, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The preliminary program for the UNITY 2014 National Community Health Worker (CHW) Conference was released today and is available at www.populationhealthcenter.org/chwln. This is the 12th Annual UNITY Conference which is set for May 20-23, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore in Baltimore, Maryland.
UNITY 2014 is the only national CHW conference designed for and about community health workers. The theme for this year's conference is "Community Health Workers – Innovative Solution to Addressing the Triple Aim (Access to Care, Reducing Costs, and Promoting Healthy Communities)."
The conference format will include plenary sessions with addresses from keynote speakers and panelists, as well as numerous breakout, poster, skill-building, and roundtable workshop sessions. Community health workers are strongly encouraged to attend. UNITY 2014 is an opportunity for community health workers to share knowledge, information, and expertise with other community health workers, colleagues, and policy makers.
UNITY 2014 will address the role community health workers play in creating access to care, reducing care costs, and promoting healthy communities. The conference will stress the importance of community health workers to the delivery of health and health reform; promoting social justice; shaping policy and practice; return on investment; and methods of overcoming barriers to CHW program success.
