National Coastal Protection Conference Coming to Southern California
ANAHEIM, Calif., Aug. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- With the devastating impacts of rising sea levels increasingly evident, authorities from around the country will meet in Anaheim, CA this August for a highly focused symposium on protecting our shoreline infrastructure from the potential devastation of the rising tides.
Procedures for evaluating sea level change, the unforeseen consequences of coastal flooding, impact assessment, response and adaption strategies, new mapping tools and techniques for visualizing sea level rise, handling extreme storm surges, and low-cost retrofitting to facilitate flood protection will be among the topics covered.
Preparing for the Rising Tide: Coastal Protection Symposium will be co-located with StormCon, The Stormwater Pollution Prevention Conference.
