National Bankers Association Affirms Its Role As Preeminent Voice For Minority Banking
WASHINGTON, May 3 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Bankers Association (the "NBA") is issuing this statement as an affirmation of its role as the preeminent voice for minority banking.
The NBA, for the last 83 years – oftentimes against formidable opposition – has advanced the cause of minority banking when no other organized body would make the survival and prosperity of minority banks a priority. Of course we welcome others to join our efforts.
Over the years, the NBA has been witness to initiatives that have either been fleeting or have had varying degrees of success; nearly all have made lofty promises in pursuit of assisting minority banks. As the banking trade association of record for these financial institutions, the NBA continues to develop effective strategies that tangibly address the unique challenges of minority owned banks. Moreover, no other national organization has championed the financial needs of America's underserved communities with the consistency and the tenacity of the NBA.
While others will attempt to exploit a changing political environment in Washington, D.C. for their own parochial interests, those who shape public policy and regulate banks must never forget that the only banking association that will always make the survival of minority and women-owned banks its single, highest priority is the National Bankers Association.
