National Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems to Galvanize Member Relationships on Within3
Online community enables health professionals, executives to collaborate year-round
CLEVELAND, June 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems (NAPH) announced plans to launch an exclusive online community for employees at its member hospitals, becoming one of the first hospital associations to expand into a year-round Within3 online collaborative community. For the first time, NAPH members will be able to collaborate on national, regional and local issues in an online forum, enabling continuous feedback and sharing of best practices. This will facilitate discussions and strategies for providing needed care to the nation's most vulnerable patient populations.
"Our safety net hospitals are at a crossroads," said Bruce Siegel, CEO of NAPH. "As they strive to do more with less, it is imperative that their leadership have a fast and efficient way to connect and collaborate with each other. Not only can they share what works, they can stimulate conversation on what's possible and develop new solutions that can be disseminated quickly to all."
The new private NAPH online community is built for and managed by NAPH, powered by Within3 technology. It is designed to foster ongoing discussion and provide dynamic networking, all of which meet the growing need for collaboration among today's health care leaders.
"Within3 is pleased to work with NAPH designing this exclusive online community," said Within3 CEO Lance Hill. "This community showcases how an association can bring its national members together in one platform, creating ongoing engagement and interaction. NAPH's members will be able to conveniently collaborate and leverage each other's collective expertise which will result in enhanced management of our nation's most important public hospitals."
About National Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems
NAPH represents the nation's largest metropolitan hospitals and health systems that fulfill a safety net mission of providing high volume of care to low income individuals. These facilities provide high-quality health services for all patients, including the uninsured and underinsured, regardless of ability to pay. In addition to functioning as the countries default national health insurance system public hospitals provide many essential community-wide services such as primary care, trauma care and neonatal intensive services. Public hospitals also train many of America's doctors, nurses and other health care providers. Since its inception in 1980, NAPH has cultivated a strong presence on Capitol Hill, with the executive branch, and in many state capitals. NAPH advocates on behalf of its members on such issues as Medicaid, Medicare, and access to health care services for vulnerable populations. For more information, visit http://www.naph.org
