National Association of Broadcasters Selects Highwinds' CDN to Deliver NAB Show Video for Second Consecutive Year
New Video Features to be Delivered by Highwinds for 2010 NAB Show
WINTER PARK, Fla., April 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Highwinds, a content, network and hosted IP services business, today announced that the National Association of Broadcasters has selected its content delivery network (CDN) for the second consecutive year to deliver video from the annual NAB Show. Video highlights from the 2010 NAB Show, taking place April 10-15 in Las Vegas, will be delivered to online audiences over Highwinds' CDN during and after the event through the NAB Show web site at www.nabshow.com.
Highwinds is working closely with the National Association of Broadcasters and Digital Rapids, who is providing onsite transcoding technology again this year. Video of the event, including daily highlights, studio segments, and attendee and exhibitor interviews, will be available for on-demand distribution to worldwide audiences over Highwinds' CDN. NAB will be offering more online video coverage than it has in previous years, with new event footage and segments.
"Last year during the 2009 NAB Show, we relied heavily on our technology partners Highwinds and Digital Rapids to create an easy workflow for our onsite staff to capture, encode and deliver video from the conference and exhibit floor," said Aaron Cullers, manager of convention marketing of NAB. "This year, we are proud to have both partners back as we introduce new and exciting video features, such as the 'War on the Floor' scavenger hunt series and a wealth of video confessionals from attendees and exhibitors. The success we achieved last year in delivering our show coverage to online audiences, and the proven ability of Highwinds and Digital Rapids to respond to our needs and exceed our expectations, have given us the confidence to expand our video offering this year."
"We are excited to be working with NAB again this year. For more than 80 years, information shared at the annual NAB Show has proven to be valuable to broadcasters, enterprises and individuals in the industry who are passionate about their content," said Steve Miller, president and CEO of Highwinds. "We are pleased that our global CDN expands the reach of the NAB Show's valuable content to those who are unable to attend in person as well as those attendees who want a recap of the show once they return home."
