National Association of ACOs Conference Results Posted
WASHINGTON, April 30, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Association of ACOs (NAACOS) is announcing the availability of slides from the presentations at their national conference in Baltimore April 23-25. At the conference, CMS Deputy Administrator, Jon Blum, presented detailed results of the first year's results of the Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) and other speakers presented results of innovative ways to manage your ACO, improve quality and lower costs. NAACOS also released the results of their recent poll of ACO executives that showed that 2/3 of the current ACOs would not renew their contracts with CMS unless substantial improvements in the program were made. CMS Deputy Administrator Dr. Patrick Conway discussed how CMS FFS payment is evolving to accountable, quality-driven payment. CMS leadership in the MSSP and Pioneer programs conducted a 75 minute open dialogue with attendees about the Medicare ACO program answering a wide range of questions about operational policies and technical challenges. Dr. Glenn Steele, CEO of Geisinger Health System, spoke about the innovative advances they are making in improving quality and lowering costs. Over 300 ACO executives and business partners attended. The next conference is slated for Washington, DC, September 22-24.
