National 4-H Council Welcomes Top Executives to Board of Trustees
CHEVY CHASE, Md., April 25, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- National 4-H Council is pleased to name two new members to its Board of Trustees. UnitedHealthcare Community & State Chief Operating Officer Danna Mezin, and AgFirst Farm Credit Bank (FCB) Chief Executive Officer Tim Amerson were both confirmed to National 4-H Council's Board of Trustees at its most recent meeting on Friday, April 19.

Danna Mezin, a 4-H alumna, has more than 25 years of experience leading operations in dynamic service industries. As chief operating officer for UnitedHealthcare Community & State, Mezin is responsible for the company's growth and development including new business implementation, communications, health plan operations, and business and product development. Prior to joining UnitedHealthcare, she worked for Magellan Health Services as chief of service operations and has held various leadership positions at e-Advocate, Prudential Health Services, ValueRx, Diversified Pharmaceutical Services and Northwest Airlines. Mezin is a graduate of the University of California at Davis where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in international relations.
In July 2012, Tim Amerson became AgFirst Farm Credit Bank's CEO after serving as president and chief operating officer for the company. Prior to joining AgFirst FCB, Amerson was employed by The National Bank of South Carolina. He currently serves as chairman of the finance committee of the Presidents Planning Committee of the Farm Credit System, a member of the AgFirst Plan Sponsor Committee, a council member of the National Council of Farm Cooperatives, and a board member of the Midlands Business Leadership Group. Amerson received his Bachelor of Science degree in business finance from the University of South Carolina and an MBA from Duke University.
National 4-H Council's Board of Trustees is made up of corporate executives and private citizens with varied backgrounds, representatives from USDA, state Cooperative Extension and land-grant universities, and young 4-H alumni. National 4-H Council is governed by the Board of Trustees and members serve a three-year term.
