SOCMA Recognizes Company's Commitment to Improving Environmental, Health, Safety & Security
FORT MILL, S.C., Jan. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Nation Ford Chemical (NFC) is pleased to announce it has been recognized for outstanding efforts in improving its environmental, health, safety and security (EHS&S) management practices by the Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates (SOCMA), the leading trade association representing specialty chemical manufacturers.
NFC is an inaugural member in SOCMA's ChemStewards® program, which encourages companies to operate their facilities in an environment that promotes safety and environmental compliance to all stakeholders.
Phyllis Douglas and Trey Morgan accepted two Silver Performance Improvement Awards on NFC's behalf at SOCMA's 96th Annual Meeting and Dinner on December 4 in New York City. The company has received nine silver awards in as many years.
Nation Ford Chemical was recognized for its successful efforts to improve Employee Training and Engagement, as well as enhancements it has made in Environmental, Health & Safety in Planning and Operations. NFC implemented a digital safety program to publish current safety topics along with the company's safety statistics to employees. It also conducted a Health & Safety Day, allowing employees to receive health screenings, donate blood, and make safety improvements throughout the plant.
